The road past Slidell to the repair yard is too far to trailer yourself, especially with a cabin cruiser too wide for a backyard tow rig. That is how most calls start once storm season ends. The other is a sailboat still tied at a canal dock, needing the yard before the next named storm rolls through St. Tammany Parish. Either way the boat has value. It just needs equipment and a crew who knows the roads.
My crew handles it with our own truck, we haul it door to door, and any oversize paperwork is done before we roll. Covington and Mandeville sit on the same route we run after storms. A boat bought without its paperwork sorted can still be moved, details on the Louisiana boat transport page.
