Terms of Service
Last updated: August 30, 2026
These terms cover how Hansons Boat Removal (also referenced as "we", "us", or "our") provides boat removal, hauling, sailboat disposal, and fiberglass boat disposal services across the United States. By requesting a quote or scheduling a pickup you agree to what is written here.
Quotes
Quotes are given based on the photos, dimensions, condition, and location you share with us. A quote is valid for 14 days from the date we send it. If any of the underlying details change (larger boat than described, unpaved access we were not told about, added distance to a landfill) we may adjust the number before starting work — we will always confirm with you first.
The price we quote is the number you pay: no fuel surcharge, no separate loading fee, no "we found more damage" surprises. What you sign is what you owe.
Scheduling and access
Once you accept the quote we book a pickup window. You are responsible for:
- Clearing a path our truck and trailer can drive up to the boat (typically a 12 ft wide gate or driveway).
- Making sure someone over 18 is present at pickup, or leaving written authorization if not.
- Removing personal belongings you want to keep. Anything left inside the boat becomes ours to dispose of.
If we arrive and cannot access or load the boat for reasons we were not told about, a $150 attempted-service fee applies. We waive it the moment you rebook.
Title and paperwork
We remove boats with or without a title. When you have no title we ask you to sign a bill of sale that transfers ownership and confirms the boat has not been reported stolen. We also file the disposal paperwork with the state salvage authority where required. If you owe unpaid taxes, marina fees, or storage liens, those remain your responsibility.
Property and site condition
Our crew takes reasonable care to leave your yard, marina slip, or storage lot in the condition we found it. If we damage your property through negligence we cover the repair up to $2,000 or, if the damage exceeds that, our commercial general liability insurance handles the rest.
Payment
Payment is due on the day of pickup, before the boat leaves the site, unless we have agreed to a written invoice with net-30 terms. We accept cash, check, and card. Card payments carry no surcharge.
Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the pickup window with no fee. Cancellations inside 24 hours are subject to a $75 dispatch fee. We do not charge a fee if you cancel because of severe weather, illness, or another reason outside your control — just call us.
Photos and marketing
We may take photos of the boat before, during, and after removal for our internal records and case-study pages on this site. Photos never show personal identifying details of the property or its owner. If you do not want photos used publicly, tell us before pickup and we will remove them from any marketing material.
Limitation of liability
Once the boat leaves your property title and risk transfer to us. Our maximum liability under these terms is capped at the amount you paid for the service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (missed sales, storage bills accrued before we picked up, etc.).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Ohio, where Hansons Boat Removal is registered. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct conversation goes to a Franklin County, Ohio court, unless we mutually agree to arbitration.
