Dale's take on Arizona

The trailer outlasted the boat by years in a lot of Arizona driveways, frame rusted through, hull still bolted on top like nobody wants to say it is over. Out here it is barn corners and storage lots more than water, places like Payson and Chandler, where a fiberglass hull dries out, cracks, and turns into a fixture nobody remembers buying.

We run fiberglass boat disposal start to finish, and in Arizona that usually means a longer haul since the nearest processor is not close. My crew tows the hull out whole, cuts it down at our yard, and gets the material to a processor instead of letting it sit for another decade. Missing paperwork does not stop the job.

Local read — Arizona

In Arizona distance drives the number more than anything else, since most hulls come out of a driveway, barn, or storage lot far from water and the haul to the processor tends to run long. Spring cleanouts keep us busiest, but the rest of the year stays steady. A typical pull is a mid-size fishing or ski boat that has not touched water in years. Send photos, hull length, and your ZIP for a firm number.

How the pickup works

  1. 1

    Send photos + your ZIP

Hull length, condition (transom, floor, stringers), access notes. Photos beat descriptions.

  2. 2

    Firm quote back

One number for pickup, transport, cutting, and disposal. No hourly, no fuel surcharges after.

  3. 3

    Schedule the tow

We coordinate the pickup window. The crew calls when they're an hour out.

  4. 4

Haul to our yard, cut it down

Hull comes off in one piece when it can, then it's cut into sections at our yard. No cutting torches in your driveway.

  5. 5

Recycle what routes, dispose of the rest

Metal fittings and hardware recycled. Fiberglass goes to a processor equipped for it.

Fiberglass disposal in Arizona: FAQ

How much does it cost to get rid of an old fiberglass boat in Arizona?
Cost mostly comes down to hull size and how far we have to haul it to the processor, which is usually a longer trip out here than in coastal states, all inside the range in the pricing section above. A boat sitting in a barn near Payson costs about the same to move as one in a Chandler driveway.
Will a junkyard or scrap yard take a fiberglass boat?
Scrap yards want metal, and there is not much of it in a fiberglass hull once you strip the motor and trailer off. That is why so many end up parked in a corner of a property in Arizona for years, nobody at the yard wants the resin and foam. We take the whole thing, hull included, so you are not stuck finding three different buyers.
Can fiberglass boats be recycled?
It can be recycled, but not the easy way. Hulls get ground down or shipped to one of a small number of facilities built to handle composite material, and that process is not cheap. The metal hardware, fittings, and aluminum trim are the easy part. We handle both sides and dispose of what cannot be reused properly.
Can I cut up a fiberglass boat myself?
You can, plenty of Arizona owners have tried it in a driveway with a reciprocating saw. What that usually gets you is a respirator you did not budget for, dust everywhere, and a landfill that will not take fiberglass pieces once you are done cutting. We cut hulls at our yard instead, which keeps that mess off your property.
Is an old fiberglass boat worth anything?
Rarely as a boat itself, once a hull has sat in a barn or storage lot for years the resale value is close to zero. The trailer, motor, and any working electronics are a different story and can carry real value on their own. Tell us what is still attached and we will account for it when we quote.
Do I need a title to dispose of a boat in Arizona?
That is a legal question I would rather answer accurately than guess at, so check the legal section on our Arizona boat removal page for how titling actually works here. From the operations side, missing paperwork does not stop the pickup, we move plenty of hulls where nobody can find the title.
Is fiberglass boat disposal ever free?
Sometimes, but usually not for a bare hull with nothing else going for it. Donation programs exist for boats that still run and hold value, and those can move at no cost to the owner. A dried-out hull sitting in a Buckeye or Gilbert yard for years typically will not qualify. If your motor or trailer covers the trip, I will say so first.
