Arizona Boat Removal and Disposal — flatbed truck hauling a junk boat away

Arizona Boat Removal and Disposal

Twenty years of hauling junk boats out of driveways, marinas, and backyards. Firm quote before the truck rolls.

Licensed & Insured Arizona Statewide Fast Response

Arizona is landlocked, and that never stops the calls. Bought for lake weekends, run hard for a stretch, then left in the side yard once the motor died and the repair bill made no sense next to the boat's value. Sometimes it came with a house nobody chose. Other times a code enforcement letter is what finally makes the phone ring. I have taken enough of these calls to hear the pattern before the owner finishes the sentence.

I run it as one job: boat removal, transport, and disposal together. On a trailer, on blocks, or sitting in a storage lot, my crew handles the boat pickup either way. No registration on it is normal in this state. We still load the junk boat. Details further down.

How much does boat removal cost?

Starting from
$250

Junk boat on a trailer that rolls, with room for the truck to reach it. From there, four things move the number.

I will tell you which ones apply to yours before we schedule anything.

Size and type

A 14-foot aluminum fishing boat is one job. A 30-foot cabin cruiser is a different one. Length, beam, and weight decide the crew and the equipment.

Where it sits

Driveway on a trailer is the cheapest boat removal there is. On blocks in the backyard takes more work. In a slip, it needs a haul-out. Sunken, it needs recovery.

Condition

Engine already out is cheaper. Fuel still aboard, a hull full of rainwater, a trailer that will not roll: each adds handling.

Distance

Miles to the processing yard are part of the quote. Boat hauling cost scales with them.

Not sure which factors apply to your boat?

Can it be free?

People ask about free junk boat removal. Sometimes the boat has enough going for it, a running outboard, decent aluminum, and we take it for nothing. Sometimes it does not, and there is a fee. We will tell you which one you have.

Our guarantee

The number is firm before the truck rolls.

Twenty years in, nobody has heard a different price at the curb.

What pricing looks like in Arizona

Arizona is landlocked in every way that matters for this job, so nearly every pickup is a driveway, a barn, or a storage lot instead of a dock. Water pulls barely register out here. Because the state is spread out, the haul to the yard runs long more often than not, and that distance is part of what shapes the number I give. Spring cleanout season is the busiest stretch, though the phone rings steady the rest of the year too. I still look at the boat itself before I say a word about price. Whatever I quote is what gets collected when the truck shows up.

Junk boat pickup, salvage, and old boat removal

One boat, a whole yard, or an emergency. Old boat removal from a driveway or an estate. Junk boat pickup for the one that never sold. Marinas and boat yards call us to clear a season of abandoned slips in one visit. Insurance adjusters call after storms. My crew has floated sunken boats, hauled sailboats out of backyards, and moved a 40-footer through a neighborhood that was not built for it. One call covers removal, transport, and disposal. If it floats, floated, or was supposed to float, we haul it.

Getting rid of a boat legally in Arizona

State legal briefArizona
Reviewed August 25, 2026

Arizona does not title boats at all. Registration runs through Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD), and ADOT/MVD sends owners there directly. Every motorized vessel is registered regardless of size or motor type, including rafts, sailboats, and canoes with any motor. MVD titles only the trailer.

To hand a boat to us we need a signed bill of sale (names, HIN, length, manufacturer, price, tax paid) plus a current AZGFD registration or comparable out-of-state document, on Form 1532. With no registration and no owner to sign it over, Arizona's route is the Transfer of Ownership of an Abandoned or Unreleased Watercraft process under R12-4-507: file with AZGFD, which searches for the last registered owner, then waits 10 to 180 days depending on the result. The filing fee is $100.

There is no dedicated fund, but R12-4-507(K) lets a government agency ask AZGFD to permit disposal of junk watercraft on state or federal land after 10 days of public notice with no owner found.

If the boat is not yours. R12-4-507(A) lets a private landowner run this same process on a boat abandoned on their own property. It works, and it costs $100 to file plus 10 to 180 days waiting on the last registered owner. If you would rather have the boat gone than run that clock, removal is the shorter road. We take Arizona boats with no registration paperwork.

Skip the paperwork. We take Arizona boats with or without titles. One call, one price.

Boat removal in Arizona: what owners ask

How do I get rid of an old boat in Arizona?

In Arizona you can sell it, donate it, drop it at a salvage yard, or call a removal service to haul it off. Selling a driveway or barn boat takes more effort than most owners want. We load the unwanted boat and handle the rest.

How much does boat disposal cost in Arizona?

Boat disposal cost in Arizona depends on size, condition, where the boat sits, and the distance to the yard, which tends to be longer here than in coastal states. The pricing section above breaks down how those factors add up.

Where can I dispose of a boat in Arizona?

Your choices come down to a salvage yard, a recycler, or a removal service that runs the boat dump end to end for you. Arizona landfills generally won't take a hull. A removal service saves you the long haul yourself.

Can I get free junk boat removal in Arizona?

Free junk boat removal happens in Arizona when the boat still has value, a running outboard or solid aluminum for example. Otherwise abandoned boat removal comes with a fee, and we tell you which side of that line you're on before scheduling.

Are there boat salvage yards near me in Arizona?

Yes, Arizona has boat junkyards and salvage yards, but they expect the boat delivered on a trailer. A lot of driveway and barn boats out here haven't moved in years and can't make that trip. That's where removal fills the gap.

How do I dispose of a fiberglass boat in Arizona?

Most landfills in Arizona won't take a fiberglass hull as is. It gets cut down and hauled to facilities that actually process fiberglass, which is exactly what boat removers handle. Don't plan on breaking it down yourself.

Can you remove a boat without a title in Arizona?

Arizona doesn't issue boat titles at all, so there's nothing to produce whether the boat has one or not. We still pick it up either way. The legal section above spells out how Arizona actually handles ownership.
