A relative's boat sat three counties north of El Centro for years before the estate finally settled, a 16-foot aluminum fishing boat nobody in the family had looked at since the funeral. A cousin's sailboat turned up in the same inventory, stored at a dealer's lot on a bill nobody had been paying, both boats now belonging to people who live nowhere near where they sit.
