The road out to a yard capable of handling a cracked hull runs well outside New Windsor, and getting there on a borrowed hitch is how boats end up damaged twice. That is the survey-and-repair call we hear most from Orange County. The other is a yacht coming off a dock each fall, needing to reach covered storage before the first hard freeze sets in.
My crew runs New Windsor jobs with our own truck and trailer, sized for the hull, and we haul it door to door, keeping Cornwall and Highlands on the same route. Oversize paperwork is ours before the wheels turn. A boat bought without its paperwork sorted can still be moved, details on the New York boat transport page.
