Hauling a pontoon out of a Islip storage lot

This one was a 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 that had been parked in a side yard in Islip long enough for the vinyl floor to bubble up in three or four spots and the bimini frame to snap clean at one of the joints. Nobody was hauling it anywhere on that tandem trailer. Both frame rails had gone to rust and one axle had settled into the dirt, tires flat and cracked from sitting through however many Suffolk County winters. The obstacle was getting it out without the trailer folding under its own weight halfway down the yard. We used our own dolly gear to pick the pontoon deck off the frame instead of trusting those axles for the pull, then walked it out toward the street in sections. Most of a morning, start to finish, working around a fence line that didn't leave much room to swing the boat. Route out took us past the Brentwood side, easier road than cutting through the neighborhoods closer in. There was no title in the drawer for this one, handled per the New York page rules before we ever touched the trailer. Both the pontoon shell and what was left of the trailer came back to our yard that same afternoon, off that Islip property for good. Crews cover all of Suffolk County: Brookhaven, Huntington, Smithtown, Brentwood, West Babylon, Coram. Most calls in Islip line up for the same week, and I keep the schedule flexible because so much of this work follows the seasonal shuffle in and out of storage yards. That 24 ft Harris gets picked up on our route whether it's parked in a driveway or already sitting on blocks at a yard waiting on someone to make the call.
