28 ft Bertram Removal in Rochester, NY

A 28 ft Bertram 28 sportfisher sat in a Monroe County yard with twin engines seized solid and a cockpit sole that had rotted through to the stringers. No trailer underneath it, just blocks and rot. The owner had bought it years ago thinking he'd restore it. He never did. By the time he called us, the boat had settled into the ground and the access road was narrow enough that standard heavy equipment couldn't get close without tearing up the neighbor's property line. We brought in a smaller crane and a flat-deck trailer that could handle the weight distribution without the trailer rails sinking. Took most of a morning to rig it properly, lift it clear, and get it loaded so the weight sat right over the axles. The fiberglass hull was compromised enough that transport meant the boat would go straight to the salvage yard in the Rochester area rather than any resale option. No title in the drawer, so we handled that per the New York rules. Once it was on the truck and photographed, the Bertram was gone. Owner got his paperwork. The yard got its space back. Crews cover all of Monroe County: Greece, Irondequoit, Perinton, Henrietta, Penfield, Gates. We move boats out the same week you call, whether it's a 28-footer coming off winter storage or heading into it. Most of our Rochester pickups happen during the spring thaw and fall layup season, when owners shift their boats between marinas and dry storage. We know the roads in and out, and we know which storage yards have dock access.
