The deadline is the weekend: a buyer two counties north of Sanford wants a twenty-foot bowrider delivered by then, and nothing in the owner's driveway is rated to tow a boat that size that far. A sailboat still on its lift needs to be in dry storage before the fall deadline, and the truck that could pull it belongs to someone else.
My crew handles the boat hauling with its own trailer and rigging, and runs it door to door, with Kennebunk and Wells on the same route. Oversize paperwork is ours before the wheels roll. A boat bought without its paperwork sorted can still be moved, details on the Maine boat transport page.
