Austin, TX: 23 ft Hunter Gone in One Morning

This 23 ft Hunter 23.5 had been parked in a Bastrop County yard long enough for the water ballast tank to crack over a winter freeze. Once that tank splits, the boat isn't going back in the water, so it just sat there, low on one side, waiting for someone to deal with it. The original trailer was rusted through in spots, and two of the frame welds had given out, so towing it as-is wasn't happening. We got the truck in off the county road, dropped the mast first since it was still up and swinging weight around, then worked the hull loose from a trailer that wasn't going to roll another mile. Took most of a morning, mostly because of the trailer, not the hull. No title in the drawer, handled per the Texas page rules. Once it was on our truck we ran it back through toward Elgin and into our yard, where the keel came out and the fiberglass hull got cut down for the processor.
