Caldwell, ID: 28 ft Bertram Gone in One Morning

A 28 ft Bertram 28 sportfisher sat in a Caldwell yard with twin engines seized and the cockpit sole rotted through. No trailer underneath it. The owner had bought it years back thinking he'd restore it, but life happened, and the boat just stayed put while the fiberglass slowly checked and the interior went soft. By the time he called, he was ready to be done with it. We staged a crane on the property and rigged the hull with spreader bars to avoid collapsing what was left of the cabin structure. The real work was getting the rig out of the narrow side yard and down to the main road where the hauler could meet us. We took it under two hours, loaded it on the trailer, and routed it straight to the processor in the Nampa area. The Bertram got cut down to recyclable material within the week.
