Inherited Boat Disposal in Ely, Minnesota

A will can move a house in a matter of weeks. A sailboat is slower. This 30-foot Catalina had been on jack stands near the property for years before the owner passed, mast already down and stored alongside it, and none of the three siblings who inherited the place had ever sailed a day in their lives. They agreed on selling the house fast and figured the boat would be someone else's problem to solve later. Later turned into another full season sitting in the yard while the listing dragged. When one sibling finally called us, the mast hardware had corroded enough that separating it from the hull for transport took longer than loading the boat itself. We handled both pieces on the same trip, cleared the pad the boat had sat on, and left the yard photo-ready for the next round of showings.
