Duluth, MN: 28 ft Carver Gone in One Morning

A 28 ft Carver 28 aft cabin cruiser sat on jack stands behind a house in Duluth, and it hadn't been kind to the boat. Windows had leaked for years, the interior was soft with rot, and the fiberglass hull was chalky and stressed. The owner had bought it to use, then life happened, and the boat became something to avoid looking at every time he went to the garage. When we showed up, the trailer was still there but the boat was resting on metal stands instead of wheels. We had to get the hull off those stands, get it onto a heavy trailer, and haul it without the trailer tires giving up on the way out of the yard. The stands came off, we positioned our rig, and the crew used airbags and careful leverage to shift the weight and seat it properly. Most of the morning to get it loaded, then we routed it south toward Hibbing and on to the processor where the hull got cut down for recycling.
