Raising a 20 ft Sylvan Mirage 20 in Lauderdale Lakes, FL

A 20 ft Sylvan Mirage 20 with pontoons stained at the waterline and furniture rotted tells you how long she sat. She was tied to a lake dock, and a hole opened up at a pontoon seam. Water crept in over a few days until the gunwales were level with the surface.
The obstacle was the dock. A neighbor's dock sat tight against it, so we could not bring the skiff to both sides. We set the lift bags from the one open side, ran the straps under the pontoons by hand, and filled the bags slowly. The crew patched the seam with a plate before the drain line started, so the tube would hold air once she was floating.
The pontoons were sound apart from that seam, and the owner wanted her kept, so this was a salvage. We made the tow to a ramp and delivered her to a repair yard near Davie that can rebuild the deck and furniture. Three hours for the sunken boat recovery, with the neighbor's dock untouched.

Crews cover Broward County: Davie, Pembroke Pines, Lauderhill, Sunrise, Tamarac, Fort Lauderdale. Boats that go under in any of these areas need just a photo and a rough depth for us to start, and calls normally see a crew on the water that week. Our own bags, lines, and haul-out gear ride out with the crew, so there is no prep work on the owner's side.
