This 26 ft Pearson 26 had been sitting on stands long enough that the deck core had gone soft around every stanchion, the kind of spongy, waterlogged give you feel through your boots before you even check the hardware. Somebody bought it planning to fix it up, got busy, and the boat just stayed on those stands season after season while the deck kept breaking down underneath the fittings. We built out our rigging to cradle the hull without putting weight where the core had failed, dropped the mast first, and worked the boat down slow off the stands. Once it was down, the keel came out at our yard rather than on site, which kept the load manageable on the trailer route out toward Orlando. No title in the drawer, handled per the Florida page rules. Whole job ran most of a morning. The hull went straight to the processor after that.
