Pine Hills, FL: 26 ft MacGregor 26 Off the Bottom in One Morning

A mildewed cabin and a missing rudder defined the 26 ft MacGregor 26 sailboat. She sat at a lake dock for most of a year, the hatch let rain in, and she finally filled and sat with the deck awash and the bow slightly up.
The obstacle was the water ballast. A MacGregor carries a ballast tank, and a full tank on a sunk boat adds hundreds of pounds nobody expects. The crew opened the drain first and let the tank empty on its own while the cabin was dewatered, then placed the lift bags under the bilge.
Four hours later she floated. A short tow got her to the ramp and the truck took her toward Ocoee and our yard. The mildew had gotten into the foam and the laminate, so a rebuild was not going to pay. She was dismantled and recycled, and the outboard bracket and hardware went out as salvage after the sunken boat recovery.

Crews cover Orange County: Orlando, Fairview Shores, Winter Garden, Winter Park, Apopka, and Ocoee. When a boat goes under in Pine Hills or any of those towns, we plan the recovery the same week, sort out the depth and access by photo, and get a crew on site as soon as the water and the schedule allow.
