Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Princeton

A Pearson 26 with deck core soft around every stanchion is a boat that has been leaking from the top for years. This 26 ft Pearson 26 sailboat had finally taken enough rain to go under.
She sat on a mooring, settled by the stern with the bow pointing up. The owner had not been aboard in a long time. The obstacle was the soft deck. Lifting from the rails would have torn the hardware loose, so we rigged lift bags under the hull instead and left the deck alone. She came up stern first, then evened out as the bow filled the last of its air.
It took about four hours. Our tow brought her in toward Homestead on a trailer, and she ended up at our yard. With wet core around every fitting, a rebuild made no sense. The lead keel went to salvage, and the hull was cut and recycled. Sunken boat removal on an old sailboat is often like this, and the owner was fine with it.

Crews cover Miami-Dade County: Tamiami, Coral Terrace, South Miami Heights, Palmetto Bay, Homestead, and Hialeah Gardens. Most sailboat recoveries around Princeton are scheduled within days, so the water does not get worse. A boat down on a mooring is reached by skiff, so shore access is rarely the limit. We raise first and sort out what happens to the boat afterward.
