The Trophy had been stored, not used, for most of the years the owner had owned it. Bought with plans for regular trips to a reservoir a few hours north, it went out a handful of times before work travel picked up and the trips stopped happening altogether. Rather than leave it outside in the sun, he kept it parked in an oversized garage built for exactly that purpose, which meant it stayed in good shape but also meant it quietly occupied space he could have used for anything else. When he decided to convert part of the garage into a workshop, the boat had to go first. Getting a 27-foot hull out of a garage door built with maybe six inches of clearance on either side took careful spotting the whole way, no room for error on the pull. We cleared it without a scratch, and the workshop framing started the same week.
