Raising a 24 ft Maxum 2400 SCR in Safety Harbor, FL

A chalked-white hull with a soft spot at the transom. That is the 24 ft Maxum 2400 SCR cabin cruiser a Pinellas owner asked us to look at.
She had been on a mooring a long time, and the transom softness let water creep in until she settled by the stern with the bow pointing up. The obstacle was finding a safe lift point. We tapped the hull with a mallet until the sound changed, then set two lift bags forward of the soft spot and a third mid-hull. The stern stayed low until the last, then she came up level.
About five hours on site. We ran the tow to a ramp near Clearwater, then trailered her. The transom needed a full rebuild, which a repair yard was willing to do. The engine ran after a flush, which sealed the decision. As a sunken boat recovery goes, the salvage here was a good one.

Crews cover Pinellas County: Clearwater, Dunedin, East Lake, and Largo. If a cabin cruiser is under water in Safety Harbor, send photos and depth, and a crew can usually be there within the week. Any boat that has settled at a mooring is served from the water by skiff, and shore access barely matters. We lift the boat first, then we decide with the owner where it goes next.
