Sunken Sailboat Recovery in South Bradenton

Years of a mast down and lashed to the deck had done nothing good for this 22 ft Catalina 22 sailboat. She sat tied to a canal seawall with the cabin roof just above the surface.
Rain had filled the cockpit and cabin until the hull gave up. The obstacle was the seawall, with houses on one side and docks on the other, and no clear way to put a crane anywhere. We slid lift bags under from the canal side, kept the lines short, and walked her down the canal to a spot where a trailer could back close to the water.
About four hours on site. The tow was slow and quiet, and then the drive ran toward Palmetto. The hull and keel were fine, so a repair yard took the boat as a project. The rigging went to salvage. The owner was just glad to see her on dry ground. It was a calm sunken boat removal, mostly measuring and waiting.

Crews cover Manatee County: Bayshore Gardens, Bradenton, Memphis, and Palmetto. If a sailboat is under water in South Bradenton, send photos and depth, and a crew can usually be there within the week. A hull lying against a canal seawall is floated out where it sits, because a crane cannot reach it. Tight quarters shape the plan, though we still aim for the same week.
