Sun City Center, FL: 21 ft Thompson 21 Off the Bottom in One Morning

Years back somebody pulled the outdrive off the 21 ft Thompson 21 and never reinstalled it, which left an open hole in the transom. Somebody had plugged it with a board and hope. At the ramp, the gunwales sat level with the water, and the cuddy was full to the berths.
Depth was not the issue. The problem was the ramp itself, because it stayed busy and we could not tie it up for a full day. So we staged early before the first trailers showed. Lift bags went on, the crew sealed the transom with a proper patch, and she came up and floated within two hours.
A short tow put her on our trailer. Salvage was not worth the cost on a Thompson with a bad transom and no drive, so she headed to our yard for dismantling and recycling by way of Brandon. Three hours total. This kind of sunken boat recovery is routine for us, and the ramp was clear by eight.

Crews cover Hillsborough County: Apollo Beach, Bloomingdale, Brandon, and Cheval. When a boat goes under in Sun City Center, photos and a rough depth are usually enough to plan the job and most recoveries here are scheduled within the same week. We show up with our own bags, our own skiff, and a trailer, so one crew handles all of it. Pass along whatever photos you took and we will tell you what the raise involves.
