Riverview, FL: 27 ft Ericson 27 Off the Bottom in One Morning

Crazed portlights and an interior stripped by a previous owner. The 27 ft Ericson 27 sailboat was a shell of a cabin on a good hull.
She sank at the public ramp with the gunwales level with the water. Without the interior, the boat had almost no flotation of its own, and the crazed portlights let water in with every wake. The obstacle was the ramp slope. A hull sitting on a slick incline will slide when it lifts, so we set a line to a truck above and used lift bags to take the weight off the bottom a little at a time.
Time on site was about four hours. The tow was only a few hundred feet to the trailer, then a drive toward Brandon. She went to our yard, since a gutted interior and cracked ports were more work than the boat was worth. The winch and hardware were kept as salvage, and the hull was recycled. Sunken boat removal done by lunch.

Crews cover Hillsborough County: Apollo Beach, Bloomingdale, Brandon, and Cheval. Riverview calls are handled the same way: photos in, a plan out, and the boat raised inside the week. When a ramp is blocked by a sunk hull, that job comes first, so the launch reopens. Fuel still aboard, a crowded ramp or a snug slip means a different plan on the same timeline.
