Raising a 22 ft Larson 220 in Sunrise, FL

For months rainwater sat above the deck drain on the 22 ft Larson 220, and the cuddy cabin finally gave up. It sat at a lake dock with the gunwales level with the water. The owner thought it was fine until a neighbor noticed the bow lines had gone slack.
The obstacle was the fuel. About ten gallons were still in the tank, and it was weeping into the water. Before anything else we laid a boom around the hull and pulled the fuel line. Then we put lift bags under the gunwales and raised her slowly, so nothing sloshed over the side.
Floating at last, she was eased to the shore on a short tow. The deck core was soaked through and nobody was going to rebuild it. No salvage worth the effort. She rode out toward Plantation to our yard for dismantling and recycling. About three hours of sunken boat recovery on site, with the water clean when we left.
