Sunken Cabin Cruiser Recovery in Thonotosassa

After years outdoors, the 24 ft Maxum 2400 SCR had a hull chalked white and a soft spot at the transom. She lived along a residential canal with a concrete seawall. After a week of rain, only the cabin roof stuck out of the water.
The seawall was the obstacle. Concrete edges chew fiberglass, and the canal was narrow enough that our skiff barely turned. The crew hung fenders along the wall before anything else. Then lift bags went under the gunwales and she rose slowly with the hull held off the concrete by hand.
A short tow took her down to the ramp. The transom needed a rebuild, but the hull was otherwise sound, which made salvage the easy call. She went to a repair yard near Brandon. About four hours on site. Sunken boat removal here ended with a boat headed back to work, which is the better ending.

Crews cover Hillsborough County: Apollo Beach, Bloomingdale, Brandon, and Cheval. When a boat goes under in Thonotosassa, photos and a rough depth are usually enough to plan the job, and most recoveries here are scheduled within the same week. We show up with our own bags, our own skiff, and a trailer, which saves the owner from calling around for separate help. Pass along whatever photos you took, and we will describe the raise step by step.
