Raising a 22 ft Catalina 22 in Vero Beach South, FL

The mast on the 22 ft Catalina 22 had been down and lashed to the deck for years, and the owner admitted he never planned to step it again. The sailboat sat beside a canal seawall. A leak at a port let the cabin fill, and the cabin roof was the only dry part.
The mast was the obstacle. Lashed to the deck it added weight and snagged the lift bags. The crew freed it first, set it on a skiff, and then rigged bags under the hull. She came up level, and the water drained from the cabin in about twenty minutes.
A short tow put her on the ramp. Sunken boat removal was the easy part, since the Catalina was a good boat under the neglect, because the hull was solid and the keel was clean. A repair yard near Sebastian took her. About three hours on site. Salvage was the right ending, and the mast went along with her.

Crews cover Indian River County: Florida Ridge, Sebastian, Vero Beach, and West Vero Corridor. When a boat goes under in Vero Beach South, photos and a rough depth are usually enough to plan the job, and most recoveries here are scheduled within the same week. We haul in the bags, a work skiff, and a trailer, so one crew handles all of it. Shoot us a few photos, and we will outline the work needed to raise it.
