Hauling a runabout out of a Waldorf pickup

A 16 ft Glastron Swinger sat in a Waldorf driveway for three seasons. Orange metal-flake hull had dulled to grey, and the single-axle trailer had bent so far that the frame twisted when you looked at it hard. The owner had stopped using it years ago, and by the time he called, the thing had become a fixture nobody wanted to talk about. The trailer wouldn't roll straight, which meant we couldn't just hitch it and pull. We brought a flatbed, dug out the Swinger with a winch, and loaded it crosswise to keep the weight balanced. The whole job ran under two hours. Once we had it on the truck and strapped down, we routed it to the processor in Charles County where the hull got cut down and the materials got sorted for recycling.
