Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Winter Park

Rust weeping from the keel bolts down the hull was the first sign of trouble on this 25 ft O'Day 25, and it had gone on for years. The boat sat on a mooring in a calm lake, took water through the keel joint, and settled by the stern with the bow pointing up.
Diesel was the obstacle. A small tank on board had been left half full, and the marina office was nervous about any sheen near its docks. So we ran sorbent boom first and drew the fuel off by hand before we touched the hull. After that the lift bags went on, and the crew rolled the O'Day up level.
We were on site a full morning. A tow to the ramp took half an hour, and the loaded trailer left for our yard via Conway. The keel joint had opened too far to trust, and the owner chose not to rebuild. It was dismantled and recycled. Sunken boat recovery in a lake community comes down to keeping the water clean, and some fittings went to salvage.

Crews cover Orange County: Apopka, Bithlo, Conway, and Doctor Phillips. Once a hull settles on the bottom anywhere here, we start planning that same week: share the photos and depth, review the plan, and we book the bags and the tow for the first open ramp or dock. A one-day job is the rule, not the exception.
