Nebraska Boat Removal and Disposal — flatbed truck hauling a junk boat away

Nebraska

Nebraska Boat Removal and Disposal

Twenty years of hauling junk boats out of driveways, marinas, and backyards. Firm quote before the truck rolls.

Licensed & Insured Nebraska Statewide Fast Response

Storage bills are what push a lot of these calls in Nebraska. The boat has not moved in years, but somebody keeps paying to keep it parked, until they decide enough is enough. Other times the motor quit and a repair estimate came back higher than the boat is worth. Either way, the yard needs to be clear.

My crew handles old boat removal the same way every time, covering pickup, transport, and disposal in one trip. It does not matter if the boat sits on a trailer, on blocks, or in a storage lot, we load it out. Boat disposal does not wait on a title either. Details on that paperwork sit further down this page.

How much does boat removal cost?

Starting from
$250

Junk boat on a trailer that rolls, with room for the truck to reach it. From there, four things move the number.

I will tell you which ones apply to yours before we schedule anything.

Size and type

A 14-foot aluminum fishing boat is one job. A 30-foot cabin cruiser is a different one. Length, beam, and weight decide the crew and the equipment.

Where it sits

Driveway on a trailer is the cheapest boat removal there is. On blocks in the backyard takes more work. In a slip, it needs a haul-out. Sunken, it needs recovery.

Condition

Engine already out is cheaper. Fuel still aboard, a hull full of rainwater, a trailer that will not roll: each adds handling.

Distance

Miles to the processing yard are part of the quote. Boat hauling cost scales with them.

Not sure which factors apply to your boat?

Can it be free?

People ask about free junk boat removal. Sometimes the boat has enough going for it, a running outboard, decent aluminum, and we take it for nothing. Sometimes it does not, and there is a fee. We will tell you which one you have.

Our guarantee

The number is firm before the truck rolls.

Twenty years in, nobody has heard a different price at the curb.

What pricing looks like in Nebraska

Nebraska is a landlocked state, and that shows in where I find the boats I'm hauling out of it. Driveways, barns, and storage lots account for nearly every pickup, since water pulls almost never happen here. The trip back to our yard tends to run long, so that distance is baked into the number I give. Spring de-winterizing and the fall storage deadline both bring a rush of calls. I settle on the price before my crew rolls out, and it doesn't move after that.

Junk boat pickup, salvage, and old boat removal

One boat, a whole yard, or an emergency. Old boat removal from a driveway or an estate. Junk boat pickup for the one that never sold. Marinas and boat yards call us to clear a season of abandoned slips in one visit. Insurance adjusters call after storms. My crew has floated sunken boats, hauled sailboats out of backyards, and moved a 40-footer through a neighborhood that was not built for it. One call covers removal, transport, and disposal. If it floats, floated, or was supposed to float, we haul it.

Getting rid of a boat legally in Nebraska

State legal briefNebraska
Reviewed August 25, 2026

Nebraska titles boats with a cutoff by year: any motorboat built after 1972 needs a Hull Identification Number and title; anything older is exempt from titling but still registers. The county clerk issues the title before the treasurer issues registration.

Selling a boat requires notice to Game and Parks within 15 days, ending the certificate of number; transfer runs through a reissued title for post-1972 boats, or the registration for older ones. Without a title, Nebraska's path is a Motorboat Bonded Certificate of Title: a DMV database search, a certified 30-day notice to the owner and lienholder, a bill of sale or affidavit, a photo, Form MBBOND, and a surety bond worth 1.5 times the boat's value. The fee is $20 for pre-1990 boats, $50 for newer ones.

Nebraska has no confirmed program for abandoned boats. Game and Parks handles owner notification and certificate termination, and leaving an unsafe vessel in public waters is illegal, but no removal program exists. The DMV's abandoned-vehicle process is built for law enforcement and cars.

If the boat is not yours. Nebraska has a process for vehicles left on private property: notify police 24 hours ahead, hold it 90 days, send certified letters, then sell it. That is written for vehicles, and whether it covers boats is unconfirmed. Until then, removal is the more direct route. We take Nebraska boats without a title.

Boat removal in Nebraska: what owners ask

How do I get rid of an old boat in Nebraska?

Selling, donating, a trip to the salvage yard, or a removal service that takes it off your hands: that's how it ends. That boat sits in a driveway, a barn, or a storage lot far from water, and long hauls are where we come in.

How much does boat disposal cost in Nebraska?

Look at the pricing section above for the starting range, then the final number moves with size, where the boat sits, its condition, and how far it has to travel. Storage-lot and barn pickups often mean a longer haul than owners expect.

Where can I dispose of a boat in Nebraska?

No landfill here will accept a hull, which leaves a salvage yard, a marine recycler, or a removal service as the paths that work. Nothing like a boat dump exists to fill that gap, so most owners hire a removal service once selling falls through.

Can I get free junk boat removal in Nebraska?

If there's a running outboard or solid aluminum on it, that usually covers the pickup and we take it free, and I say so straight off. Nothing worth salvaging means a fee applies instead, and either way you know before we load the truck.

Are there boat salvage yards near me in Nebraska?

Salvage operations that function like boat junkyards sit around the state, and nearly every one wants the hull rolled in on a trailer instead of dropped off. Years in a barn usually rules that out, which is why boat removers like us do the pickup.

How do I dispose of a fiberglass boat in Nebraska?

Cutting the hull into sections is the only way a fiberglass boat leaves the property, since no landfill here takes it whole. Our crew does that work wherever the boat sits, then trucks the sections to a facility processing what's left of an unwanted boat.

Can you remove a boat without a title in Nebraska?

Nebraska titles newer boats and skips the requirement for older ones. We still handle abandoned boat removal whether the paperwork exists or not. The legal section above covers what actually applies to your boat.
