The Silverton took up half a pole barn that was supposed to hold farm equipment. Bought secondhand years back for weekend trips to a reservoir a couple hours off, it saw regular use for a while before the owner's knees made climbing in and out of a flybridge more trouble than it was worth. It got parked in the barn for what he called a temporary rest, and the temporary stretched past a decade while a new combine and two trailers of hay equipment slowly boxed it in. Getting our trailer positioned meant moving a stock trailer and a round baler out of the way first, a whole separate operation before we ever touched the boat. Once clear, we winched the Silverton out in daylight for what he guessed was the first time in eight years. The barn's actually usable again now.
