Hauling a sportfisher out of a Bellevue pickup

A 28 ft Bertram 28 pulled into a Bellevue property years ago on a trailer that never left. Twin engines hadn't turned over in so long the new owner didn't bother trying. The cockpit sole had gone soft, fiberglass weeping moisture, and the rig was sinking into the yard one season at a time. When we showed up, the trailer was gone. Someone had hauled it off years prior, which meant the Bertram was sitting on blocks and earth, weight fully distributed and dug in. We brought a hydraulic barge jack, shoring, and a flatbed with winch. Took most of a morning to get her stable enough to load without cracking the keel. No title in the drawer, handled per Nebraska rules. Once she was on the truck, we routed her straight to the licensed processor in Sarpy County. Fiberglass that old, with that much water damage, doesn't have a second life. It gets cut down and sent through the recycler. Crews cover all of Sarpy County: Papillion, La Vista, Chalco, Gretna, Offutt AFB, Springfield. We handle same-week pickups for most calls in Bellevue and the surrounding area. A lot of boat owners around here move their rigs in and out of storage facilities when the season changes, and we're set up to grab them wherever they land, driveway, storage yard, or marina slip. One call and we'll tell you what day works.
