Gulfport, MS: 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier Gone in One Morning

A 23 ft Chris-Craft Cavalier cabin cruiser sat in Harrison County with decades of barn dust caked into the cabin and a cracked keel strip running the length of the hull. The owner had pulled it out of the water years back, set it down without a trailer, and left it. By the time we got the call, the fiberglass had settled into the mud and the weight had pressed the keel hard against the ground. We couldn't winch it straight up. The keel was locked in, and lifting from the sides risked cracking the hull further. Instead, we brought in airbags and a spreader frame to distribute pressure across the bottom, eased the boat up in stages, and slid a heavy-duty trailer underneath section by section. Most of a morning to get it mobile and secured. Once it was on the rig, we routed the Chris-Craft to the salvage processor in Harrison County. The hull was cut down for scrap fiberglass, and the cabin hardware was sorted for recycling. The owner got a clean lot back.
