A lot of sailboat owners in Mentor come to us because the boat stopped making sense years ago. One guy had a 32-footer sitting in dry storage on the east side of Lake County. The mast came down one fall after a storm, and between the cost to re-step it, the marina slip fees climbing every year, and the fact he hadn't actually sailed in six years, he let it sit. Another call came from an estate executor in Kirtland who inherited a sailboat with a failed survey and rigging that needed replacement. The sale fell through. The boat was taking up space, and nobody in the family sailed.
We handle sailboat disposal start to finish in Mentor and the surrounding area, including Kirtland and Mentor-on-the-Lake. The crew de-rigs, hauls the old boat out, and tows it to the disposal site. Missing paperwork, no title, unclear ownership history, none of that stops the job. Full details on how we handle the whole process are on the Ohio sailboat disposal page.
