Apopka, FL: 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 Off the Bottom in One Morning

The 24 ft Harris FloteBote 24 came to us with a bubbled vinyl floor and a bimini frame snapped in two. Someone had left her tied at a boat ramp, and a hard storm filled the deck until the stern sat low and the bow pointed up.
A pontoon is awkward to raise because the logs fill separately. If one comes up faster than the other, the whole deck twists. A diver checked each log, then we rigged lift bags on both sides and brought them up together. The ramp shelf was slick, and one pull from the truck winch would have dragged the deck across concrete, so we floated her to the ramp and loaded her dry.
About four hours. The tow was short and slow. The logs held, so the pontoon rode to a repair yard near Bithlo, and the owner is rebuilding the deck. It was a clean salvage and a tidy sunken boat recovery, and the bimini frame went in the scrap bin.

Crews cover Orange County: Bithlo, Conway, Doctor Phillips, Fairview Shores. A sunken boat at a ramp blocks other launches, so we aim to be on the shelf within the same week and keep the ramp closed for as short a time as we can. Most of the drive is county road, with the winch truck staged on the apron.
