Boat Towing in Rockaway Beach, Missouri

Pontoons are easy to love and easy to forget, and this one had been forgotten at the dock through two winters. A hard spring rise on the lake pushed water up over the low side rail and it sat there swamped for weeks before a neighbor finally called the owner to say something needed to happen. By the time we got out there the aluminum tubes were still floating, barely, but the deck boards had gone soft in places. Getting a tow line on it without more of the deck giving way meant working the straps from a second boat rather than wading out, slow going in cold water. Once it was clear of the dock we winched it straight up onto the trailer to drain on the way out. The neighbor said the view off that dock looked a lot better within the hour.
