Hauling a cuddy cabin out of a Kansas City driveway

This 24 ft Formula 242 sat on a rusted tandem trailer in a Cass County driveway for years, and the stringers under the cockpit floor had rotted clean through. Once the wood goes soft down there, the whole floor flexes when you step on it, and nobody's taking that boat back on the water. The owner had stopped even trying to move it. The tandem trailer was the real problem. Both axles had seized from sitting so long, and the tires were dry-rotted flat on one side, so the rig wouldn't roll straight. We jacked it, freed up one hub enough to get it turning, and walked the whole thing out with a tow strap and a spotter, easing it past a fence line with maybe a foot to spare. Took most of a morning, mostly because of that trailer fight, not the boat itself. No title in the drawer, handled per the Missouri page rules. From there it was a straight run through Lee's Summit to the processor, where the Formula's hull got cut down for scrap and the trailer went with it. Crews cover all of Cass County: Lee's Summit, Belton, Raymore, Harrisonville, Pleasant Hill, Greenwood. Most 24 ft Formula pickups in this stretch get scheduled the same week you call, no long wait for a truck to free up. A lot of these calls come in during the spring and fall shuffle, when folks are moving boats in or out of storage yards and realize the Formula sitting on the trailer isn't making the trip. We work around that timing instead of against it.
