Sunken Cabin Cruiser Recovery in Pinellas Park

Two seasons of failed sales came down to the fuel smell on the 27 ft Chris-Craft Commander 27, and the owner finally stopped trying. She sat on her mooring, took on rain, and settled by the stern with the bow pointing up.
The obstacle was the fuel. Both tanks were about half full and the bilge was iridescent, so the crew laid boom around the hull before touching anything. We drained the tanks into drums through a hose, then ran lift bags under the stern and brought her up in stages while the engine room was dewatered.
Five hours, and she floated. A tow brought her to a ramp and we trucked her toward Largo and our yard. The engines were seized and the fuel system was beyond saving, so she was dismantled and recycled. The props and bronze fittings went out as salvage. That closed the sunken boat removal.

Crews cover Pinellas County: Clearwater, Dunedin, East Lake and Largo. When a boat goes under in Pinellas Park or any of those towns, we plan the recovery the same week, sort out the depth and access by photo, and get a crew on site as soon as the water and the schedule allow.
