Raising a 24 ft Maxum 2400 SCR in Cape Coral, FL

The hull on this 24 ft Maxum 2400 SCR was chalked white, with a soft spot at the transom. She waited at a boat ramp for weeks, took on water through the soft spot, and at last sat with her gunwales level with the surface.
A soft spot at the transom means the stern cannot carry weight. We lifted from the middle of the hull instead, with lift bags amidships and straps run forward, and let the water drain down from the stern. The ramp had a gentle slope that helped. We guided the Maxum in slowly, so the transom never took the strain of her own weight.
About three hours. A skiff handled the tow along the shore, and the truck waited at the apron. The soft transom made a rebuild poor value, and the engine was seized, so the Maxum went on the road toward Fort Myers to our yard for dismantling and recycling. The salvage was the electronics and the helm, and the sunken boat recovery closed out clean.

Crews cover Lee County: Bonita Springs, Cypress Lake, Estero, Fort Myers. Ramp recoveries in this county are usually quick, and we can generally book a truck and a skiff crew inside the same week. The haul runs through town on wide roads, so the trailer moves without trouble, and photos of the ramp help us plan the approach.
