New Smyrna Beach, FL: 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer Off the Bottom in One Morning

Soft transom, peeling bottom paint, and a 26 ft Sea Ray 268 Sundancer that had sat unused for a year: that was the picture at a public boat ramp. The gunwales were level with the water, and the cabin was full. The owner had called after a neighbor noticed it listing at the end of the ramp.
The obstacle was the transom, which could not carry a pull. We kept the bags off the stern, set lift bags along the gunwales at the cabin, and raised it level, then used a pump to let the water out of the cockpit through the drains. The ramp stayed open on one side the whole time.
The sunken boat recovery took about four hours, and we towed it up the ramp to a trailer. A repair yard near Deland took the hull after a survey. The transom was fixable, and the engines carried salvage value, so it became a repair rather than a teardown.

Crews cover Volusia County: Daytona Beach, Debary, Deland, and Deltona. When a boat goes under in New Smyrna Beach or anywhere nearby, we schedule the recovery the same week once we have photos and a rough depth. Fuel, oil, and weather all make a hull on the bottom harder the longer it sits, which is why one quick call and some photos is the fastest way to book a crew.
