Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Casselberry

Nobody noticed the 25 ft O'Day 25 was in trouble until its keel bolts had wept rust down the hull for a full season. By the time the owner called, the gunwales sat level with the water, still on her mooring.
What made it slow was the ballast. A keelboat carries its weight low, and once she floods, all of it wants to stay down. A diver plugged the worst of the seeping hardware first. Only then did we put lift bags under the turn of the bilge and bring her up level.
We worked her across to a ramp and hooked her to our trailer for a road tow toward Lake Mary. About half a day on site. The bolts told the story: the hull was done, so she went to our yard for dismantling and recycling. The rig came off as salvage. Careful sunken boat removal, nothing exotic.

Crews cover Seminole County: Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Longwood, and Oviedo. A call this week usually means a crew on the water this week. From a Casselberry mooring, the haul north to our staging point on the main road runs about as direct as it gets, and we avoid the downtown lights.
