16 ft Glastron Swinger Removal in Columbus, OH

This one was a 16 ft Glastron Swinger, a fiberglass runabout that had faded from its original orange metal-flake down to a dull grey after years parked in a Delaware County driveway. Nobody had run it in a long time. It sat on a single axle trailer that had bent enough on one side that the whole rig leaned, which meant we couldn't just hook up and roll it out the way we normally would. The lean put the hull off balance, and the tire on the low side was seized up from sitting so long it wouldn't turn freely. We jacked the frame level, freed up the wheel enough to get it rolling, and walked the trailer out to the truck by hand rather than risk dragging it sideways down the drive. Access off the main road near Dublin was tight but workable once we had the rig straightened out. Whole job took under an hour once we got the axle sorted. There was no title in the drawer, handled per the Ohio page rules, so that part didn't slow us down either. From there the Glastron went straight to the processor. The hull was too far gone on the gelcoat and the trailer wasn't worth salvaging, so it got cut down and recycled rather than passed along to anyone else. Crews cover all of Delaware County: Dublin, Westerville, Genoa, Powell, Sunbury, Harlem. A 16 ft Glastron is a quick load, so most calls in this stretch get scheduled the same week, sometimes the next day if the trailer's accessible. Fall and spring get busy with boats coming out of self-storage yards off Route 23, so we plan those pickups around lot access before the truck rolls.
