Concord, NC: 16 ft Glastron Swinger Gone in One Morning

A 16 ft Glastron Swinger sat in a yard off Route 29 near Concord for years, its original orange metal-flake dulled to grey, the single-axle trailer bent at the frame. The boat hadn't run since someone parked it there, and by the time we got the call, the owner was done looking at it every morning. The real problem wasn't the boat itself,it was that bent trailer. The axle wouldn't roll straight, which meant we couldn't just tow it out. We brought a flatbed instead, jacked the hull up off the frame, and loaded the whole thing as one unit. The yard was tight, trees on two sides, but we worked around it. From the time the truck rolled up to the moment the Glastron was secured and ready to move, we were there under an hour. The hull went to the processor in Cabarrus County. Fiberglass that old doesn't have much resale value, but it gets cut down and recycled properly. The trailer got scrapped separately.
