Sunken Sailboat Recovery in Coral Terrace

Portlights crazed and the interior stripped by a previous owner: the 27 ft Ericson 27 was already a shell when it settled by the stern on its mooring. The new owner bought her cheap, never bailed her, and the first heavy rain finished the argument.
With the interior gone, nothing inside held water except the bilge, and that helped. The bigger problem was the mooring pennant, rotted nearly through, with the hull hanging on it. We cut it clean and secured a fresh line first so she could not swing loose while rising. Lift bags went under the hull in pairs.
Up in about three hours. A short tow, then our trailer. She was too far gone for a repair yard, so she went to dismantling and recycling at our yard. Salvage meant the keel and rig. Sunken boat recovery for an ordinary shell, and an ordinary result.

Crews cover Miami-Dade County: Brownsville, Country Club, Country Walk, and Fountainebleau. A call into Coral Terrace gets a crew inside the same week. The streets are tight and parked cars line most of them, so our driver walks the final block first and picks the turning angle before backing in.
