A 16-foot catamaran doesn't look like much trouble until you try to move it. This Hobie had been sitting on its beach dolly in the side yard for a few years, inherited along with the house when an older relative passed, and neither the width of the hulls nor the mast made sense for the new owners to deal with. It never got listed for sale, just sat there taking up space while everyone figured someone else would handle it eventually. The trailer access ran between the house and a retaining wall, tight enough that we had to disconnect the crossbeam and haul the two hulls separately before reassembling them for transport. Once we had them loaded side by side, the rest of the job wrapped up fast. The hulls were sound enough to strip for parts, the trampoline, the rudders, the mast hardware, all sold separately before what was left went to fiberglass recycling. Yard's clear now.
