Raising a 22 ft Catalina 22 in Daytona Beach, FL

The 22 ft Catalina 22 had its mast down and lashed to the deck for years, and it showed. Water collected in the cockpit well, found the companionway, and one day the cabin roof was just above the surface against a canal seawall.
The seawall left no room for a truck, and the lashed mast turned the boat into a long awkward spar. We cut the lashings, floated the mast free, and bagged it for salvage. Then we rolled lift bags under the hull and brought her up against the wall, with the crew walking the lines to keep her off the concrete.
Done by lunch. A tow to the nearest ramp put her on our trailer. The hull was crazed through and the keel was wet-rotted, so it went to our yard for dismantling and recycling. Straightforward sunken boat removal.

Crews cover Volusia County: Debary, Deland, Deltona, and Edgewater. Volusia County jobs get a crew the same week, and canal calls near the beach ride a tight schedule around the tide. Our trucks take the inland roads to keep a trailered hull away from tourist traffic. We check the tide table the day before and book the crew around it.
