Durham, NC: 27 ft Catalina Gone in One Morning

A 27 ft Catalina 27 sailboat had been sitting on wooden stands in a yard outside Durham for three years. The standing rigging was seized solid, and the sails were still bundled in the bag, rotted through. The owner had bought it with plans to restore it, but life moved on, and the boat just stayed there. The trailer was deteriorated enough that moving it under its own weight wasn't safe. We brought a heavy-duty recovery winch and a flatbed, secured the hull with straps, and lifted it off the stands. From there, the haul to our facility near Raleigh took under two hours. Once on-site, we pulled the mast and removed the keel at our yard, then cut the fiberglass hull down and routed the material to the appropriate processor. Crews cover all of Durham County: Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Morrisville, Gorman, Rougemont. We handle same-week pickups for boats stored in yards, marinas, and driveways across Durham.
