A 28 ft Bertram 28 sportfisher sat in a private yard in Fall River with both twin engines seized and the cockpit sole rotted through to the stringers. No trailer. The owner had inherited the boat three years prior and finally decided to call us when the hull started showing stress cracks from sitting on blocks that had settled unevenly into the ground. Getting her out meant we couldn't use a standard trailer haul. The boat was too heavy for a single axle rig, and the driveway couldn't handle a dual-axle truck without tearing up the asphalt. We brought in a specialized salvage cradle and a rotator truck, set the Bertram on the cradle in the yard, then backed the rotator in from the street. The whole operation took most of a morning. Once she was loaded and secured, we routed the hull to the Bristol County marine processor for responsible fiberglass recycling and engine disposal.
