Raising a 27 ft Ericson 27 in Golden Gate, FL

The 27 ft Ericson 27 sailboat had portlights crazed with age and an interior stripped bare by a previous owner. It went down at a public ramp, gunwales level with the water, with a keel sitting in the soft shallows at the end of the concrete.
A sailboat will not slide up a ramp the way a powerboat does. The keel digs in and the hull rolls. So the crew set lift bags forward and aft, brought her up evenly, and walked her sideways out to the deeper end before anyone attached a line to the truck.
That sunken boat removal took about three hours on site. The tow to the dry yard was short, a few miles out toward Naples, and we blocked her upright the moment she was out. No rig, no cabin fittings, nothing left to salvage. The hull was cut apart and recycled, and the lead keel went to a scrap buyer.

Crews cover Collier County: Immokalee, Marco Island, Naples, and Ochopee. When a sailboat goes under here, we aim to have a crew on the water the same week, with bags and a work skiff already loaded. Long straight highway runs between the towns, so our drive time is mostly the haul out, not the setup.
