A boat ramp doesn't care how long a pontoon has been sitting half sunk against a dock, it just needs the lane clear before the next trailer backs in. The 24 ft Bennington had taken on water through a cracked pontoon tube over a slow winter, and by spring it was listing hard enough that the marina wanted it moved before it became someone else's problem at the fuel dock. Getting a strap under the low side without swamping it further took some patience, working from a second boat to set the rigging before the winch truck ever took the strain. Once it was hooked it came up steady, water draining out the whole way up the ramp. Loaded and gone before the morning rush of boats hit the water.
