Sunken Cuddy Cabin Recovery in Groveland

Rain had been sitting above the deck drain of the 22 ft Larson 220 cuddy cabin for weeks. Eventually the weight won, and the boat sank at its mooring until only the cabin roof showed above the surface.
The lake bottom there is soft. A hull that has rested in muck for a month gets held by suction, and a hard pull from the surface just tears at the deck. The crew went in with a skiff, rigged four lift bags, and rocked the Larson slowly for twenty minutes until the mud let go. She came up level.
Nobody rushed anything. The whole sunken boat recovery took most of a morning, and the only sound was the bag valves. We floated her to the shore on a short tow, hauled her out on our trailer, and turned toward Clermont and a repair yard. Hull sound, engine flooded, upholstery lost. That is a salvage worth doing, and we treated it as one.

Crews cover Lake County: Clermont, Eustis, Four Corners, and Lady Lake. Inland lake jobs are scheduled the same week we get photos and a rough depth, since a boat sitting in soft mud only gets harder to free. Our trucks work the main roads between these towns, which keeps a day trip realistic for most addresses.
