Raising a 26 ft Pearson 26 in Bloomingdale, FL

Every stanchion on the 26 ft Pearson 26 had deck core gone soft around it, and the owner had been meaning to fix them. Rain found the weak spots first. The Pearson filled in her slip until the deck was awash and the bow just clear.
Soft core limited where we could attach anything. Deck fittings would pull out under load, so we passed straps beneath the hull and ran them to the lift bags instead. The slip was crowded, so the crew worked from a skiff at the stern and kept hand lines on the bow to stop her swinging against the pilings.
Most of a morning. Once afloat, she was a short tow to the fuel dock for a hose-down and a check. With the core rotten across the deck, the Pearson went to our yard near Brandon for dismantling and recycling, and the keel went for scrap, which was the only salvage, and the sunken boat removal was done.

Crews cover Hillsborough County: Apollo Beach, Brandon, Cheval, Citrus Park. A call to the marina office is the first step on a slip job, and we usually finish the recovery inside the same week. The trailer route is short, and we run it in the early hours to keep the lanes clear.
